

Young Mother's United is a 12 week youth-led advocacy project that works to support the rights and systems navigation of pregnant and parenting young women during incarceration and reentry, as well as system-impacted young mothers (youth navigating poverty, foster care, underground street economy, etc.) YMU provides economic opportunities through stipends, advocacy, and support services for young mothers’ ages 14 to 25. Some of the support provided during YMU include: 12-week parenting class, healing and wellness sessions, court advocacy and accompaniment, as well as economic and leadership opportunities.
