Welcome to Project Protocol!
Before you begin using Project Protocol, please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. By using our app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Project Protocol, you agree to comply with these Terms.
2. User Requirements
Users must be individuals who have direct or indirect experience with the parole system, either personally or through close association. (e.g. Person currently on parole, Person recently on parole, and Reentry case manager )
Users must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Data Ownership and Privacy
The data you provide belongs to you. You have the freedom to delete your data whenever you choose. This includes ratings, comments, and shared resources.
We are committed to your privacy. We do not collect personal information beyond what is necessary for the app's functionality.
4. Use of Data
Any data on the app may be used for advocacy and research purposes aligned with our mission. It will not be sold or shared with government agencies, including police, parole, and probation departments.
The data will be reported publicly to demonstrate the successes or failures of the current system.
Allies who sign on to our ethical principles will have access to your data for the purposes of reporting, advocacy, and research.
5. User Conduct
You agree to provide honest, respectful, and constructive feedback about your current parole officer or previous one.
Inappropriate content, personal attacks, and/or doxxing is not tolerated and will be removed from the public view.
6. Content Moderation
We reserve the right to review and remove content that violates our terms of service and ethical principles. See our community posting guidelines here.
7. No Retaliation Policy
Project Protocol is a platform for honest feedback. Retaliation against users of the app is strictly prohibited.
8. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Limitation of Liability
Project Protocol is not liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the app for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by California State law.
