

April is Second Chance Month, and Los Angeles County is showing up strong with events all month long to support folks impacted by the justice system.
Thanks to a motion led by Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, the L.A. County Board of Supervisors officially recognized April as Second Chance Month and the last week as Reentry Week—a powerful reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to rebuild and thrive.
Throughout April, the Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD) is hosting events across all five districts focused on:
Job training & legal support
Housing & mental health services
Reentry program launches
Community connection & celebration
