Additional comments

I am submitting this complaint to document my experience with my probation officer. Throughout my supervision, I have felt that I have not been treated with professionalism, respect, or fairness. This experience has been very different from my interactions with every other probation officer I have worked with. In the past, I have been treated fairly, respectfully, and professionally, even when difficult conversations or enforcement of probation conditions were necessary. We always found ways to work together to make sure I was in compliance, always being transparent in my day to day, and cooperation with my PO. Those experiences showed me that accountability and respectful treatment can go hand in hand. In contrast, I have found my current probation officer to be unsupportive and dismissive. Rather than offering guidance or helping me succeed while on probation, many of our interactions have focused on threats that I would be violated and sent back to jail. These conversations have left me feeling intimidated instead of encouraged to comply with the conditions of my probation. I have also experienced my probation officer's communication as rude and lacking empathy. I understand that probation officers have a responsibility to enforce court-ordered conditions, and I respect that role. However, I believe that responsibility can be carried out while treating people with professionalism, dignity, and respect. I am submitting this complaint because I believe these interactions fall short of the professional standard I have experienced with other probation officers.
